The beholder of the reality of literary criticism in our contemporary Arab world realizes the extent of what it needs of awareness, revision and reconstruction ...

so that it becomes a critical reality that matches and is appropriate to the current intellectual and cultural developments.

no one denies the specificity of the Arabic poetic text that distinguishes it from others, and therefore we must read it critically through an approach stemming from authentic Arab values, compatible with the environment that produced it, not through imported western monetary values; we are working on settling it in our Arab world without awareness of the different contexts in which it was raised.

this scientific article aspires to reach an objective critical method that stems from scientific foundations, by which it transcends impressionistic criticism, which does not have an objective vision, to a method that is more inclusive of poetic texts, and on the other hand, is able to show the aesthetic value and semantic dimensions of these texts.

the vision of this research stems from a methodological, theoretical and applied approach, topped by optimism in finding a systematic critical system that deals with the poetic text from all its creative aspects internal and external without taking it in distant and alien paths.

which turns it into a more ambiguous and complex text.

the study used a historical and descriptive approach that stands on the origins of ancient Arabic criticism, and highlights the problem of the modern critical approach in its handling of the poetic text, and an applied analytical approach through an applied reading of a pre-Islamic poetic text.
