Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying the effectiveness of educational electronic games on the acquisition of the concepts of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) subject for female fifth graders.

in order to achieve the aim of this study, the researcher used the empirical approach.

the research population consisted of the female fifth graders in public schools ; the research was applied on a sample of 39 female fifth graders from Khawla Bint al Azor primary school in Riyadh.

the girls were divided into two groups ; one was the experimental group which consisted of 21 students who were taught using electronic educational games.

the second group was the control group ; it consisted of 18 students who were taught conventionally.

the research tool included a pre and post-test about the acquisition of the jurisprudential concepts, and some electronic educational games.

the findings of the study showed that the experimental group students surpassed the control group students in the mean of the results of the post-test of jurisprudential concepts, which included the unit about the parts of prayer, which are the opening of the prayer (Takbir), standing for prayer (Qiyam), bowing (Ruku), returning to the standing position, prostrating to Allah (Sujud), sitting, saying the first tashahud and the final tashahud, and the closing of the prayer (Taslim).

this surpassing was statistically significant at 0.05 level.

therefore, the study recommends the following : -activating electronic educational games in the teaching of fiqh in primary schools and all other educational levels.

-rethinking about the current way of teaching primary levels so to come to methods that are in harmony with the technological advancements to achieve the desired educational objectives.

-providing computers at primary schools so to enable the use of games, and instructional technology in general.
