Abstract EN

The research sought to investigate the extent of rural women's awareness of empowerment issues according to the calls of women's movements in three basic areas (political, social, and economic) and to reveal the most important social challenges that confront feminist awareness of women's empowerment in the countryside of Assiut governorate.

the research used the descriptive approach in a sample social survey method by applying the field study to 400 females in the countryside of Assiut governorate, and the field research relied on a scale designed on a five-point Likert pattern to measure feminist awareness of empowerment issues among rural Egyptian women.

the field study resulted in a number of results, the most important of which are : feminist awareness of empowerment issues among rural women in the Egyptian society still needs a lot of awareness and development, and despite the efforts made by the concerned authorities to empower women ; the awareness of women is less than expected ; where feminist awareness of empowerment issues in the field (social, economic, political) came with statistical indicators that indicate a decrease in that awareness, which differed according to the different social construction and cultural frameworks governing the life of women in the rural community.

this is due to the social challenges that confront the empowerment of rural women.

the most important of which were : the cultural sediment prevailing in the research community and the dominance of masculine perceptions in the countryside, which can be understood in light of the feminist trends, masculine perceptions and social exclusion.

therefore, the researcher recommends the need to pay attention to conducting more social studies in the field of gender, such as : marginalization of women and gender over development.

supporting the civil sector for women and encouraging them to participate in the positive public.
