Abstract EN

We aim through this study to shed light on the role of the work doctor in updating the list of occupational diseases, by defining the concept of occupational diseases, methods of determining them, and the tasks of the work doctor in the field of updating them.

the recent developments in the industry have led to the emergence of new diseases of occupational origin.

in an effort to keep pace with this development, the Algerian legislator entrusted the work doctor with the task of declaring these diseases.

through this study, we concluded: the necessity of determining flexibility in the adaptation of occupational diseases that are not included in the specific tables of occupational diseases by activating the role of the work accidents and occupational diseases committee in this adaptation at the level of the social security authority.

the role of occupational medicine in detecting occupational diseases should also be strengthened.

and conducting awareness-raising sessions to educate workers about the benefits of declaring occupational diseases so that the competent bodies can identify newly created occupational diseases and include them in the tables.
