Modern legislation has turned to a new type of justice based on consent, agreement and reconciliation, what is called restorative justice.

penal mediation is one of the moste important forms of this restorative justice.

so, the aim of this research is to introduce the basic concepts of penal mediation and enable the reader to become familiar with the most important conditions and procedures that it requires.

the penal mediation has been adopted by modern criminal policies due to the simplicity of its procedures, its low costs and the effectiveness of its results.

it's a mechanism that aims to end the conflict amicably with the intervention of the public prosecution, which guarantees compensation to the victims.
