Social media have provided a virtual public sphere in which users can express their different opinions and comment on public affairs, practice virtual democracy, active citizenship, equal participation, dialogue and content production.

these sites-especially twitter-have become a major force in terms of mobilizing the political space for public participation and increasing interaction with political elites over the past few years.

with the talk about the “deal of the century” and the increase in the area of normalization between Arabs and Israel, the elites and electronic opinion leaders have taken from their twitter accounts platforms to express their opinions, especially in light of the raging debate over normalization between official support and popular rejection.

social media were the area that contained all these opinions epecially twitter, which is the most preferred space for politicians and others to express their opinions in the form of short and focused tweets bearing a clear opinion on the issues.

during the study, the perceptions and attitudes of 16 Egyptian elites on twitter, who used their accounts to express their positions on the issue of normalization with Israel, were analyzed.

the study proceeds from the theoretical framework related to the theory of the public sphere, and reached the elites' complete rejection of normalization, and the support of the interacting participants for that.
