Lamentation is one of the types of lyrical literature that extends its roots since ancient times in the arenas of Arabic and Persian literature.

It is among the objects of poetry that has a strong emotional foundation, as well as imbued with imagination.

The epitaph is the most important component of poetry, especially the lamentation of children; For this kind of pathos is an outward manifestation of strong, accumulated emotion mixed with a mixture of imaginative innovations, without any pretentiousness or pretentiousness.

Lamentation addresses emotions and feelings, and aims to enumerate the virtues of the dead and to show grief and yearning for him, and to exacerbate the calamity in him.

The departure of the sons leaves deep wounds in the hearts of poets, and this kind of lamentation has been found in Arabic and Persian literature, and among these poets who are famous for the elegy of children in Arabic, "Ibn Al-Rumi", one of the poets of the Abbasid era, and "Masoud Saad Salman" in Persian.

So, "Ibn Al-Rumi" lamented his middle son "Muhammad" and "Masoud Saad" lamented his son "Rasheed".

He found a great similarity in the lives of both poets, and there is a similarity in the style and content of their lamentation.

The aim of the research: It is an attempt to present a kind of pathos, which is the pathos of the son in the Arabic and Persian literature of both "Ibn Al-Roumi" and "Masoud Saad Salman", and to shed light on the similarities and differences between them.

Research Methodology: The research follows the comparative analytical method.

Where the different models are analyzed and compared to clarify the similarities and differences between the two epitaphs.
