The globalization of the world economy has led to the increasing role of maritime transport; in particular, container transport, which plays a major role in the shipping industry, which is the backbone of international trade and the global economy, where about 80% of global trade by volume, transported by sea.

Ports play a vital role in the supply chain; it also plays an essential role in local economic development.

Ports are no longer a place that handled by ships and goods only, but they have become economically competitive in all areas.

This research aims to develop a proposal using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) to increase the competitiveness of Aden container terminal during the year 2021; where FAHP determines the relative importance of the variables that used to determine the competitiveness of container terminals.

It was found that the Aden container terminal has shortcomings and defects in all the variables that were selected to measure competitiveness (berth depth, storage area, berth length, handling equipment), where it was found that the Aden container terminal suffers from a very poor level of performance in all these variables.
