Abstract EN

The current research aims to prepare a scale to assess executive functions in children with specific language impairment and normal children, and to verify its validity and stability.

to achieve this aim, the scale has been prepared and its finally consists of (115 sentences) distributed over (8)dimensions, as follows: the first dimension is the response inhibition (18 sentences), the second dimension is initiation (11 sentences), the third dimension is cognitive flexibility (23 sentences), the fourth dimension of planning / organization (14 sentences), the fifth dimension of working memory (22 sentences), the sixth dimension of emotional control (11 sentences) the seventh dimension of materials organization (8 sentences), the eighth dimension (8 sentences).

the researcher applied the scale to a sample of (88)male and female children (38 with specific language impaiment,50 with normal), aged from (5-7), (7-9), (9-l2) years, with an arithmetic mean for children with specific language impairment (8,58) and astandard deviation of (2,19) and an arithmetic mean for normal children (8,65) and astandard deviation of (2,23), and IQ of children with specific language impairment and normal children ranges between(90-110).

the data was subject to statistical analysis to verify its validity and stability.

thus the scale became usable with a high degree of confidence.
