Abstract EN

Although great emphasis is placed on stress and burnout of special education teachers, little attention is paid to their psychological flourishing (PF).

this paper aimed to present a counseling program based on the PERMA model to promote and enhance PF and to evaluate its effectiveness for special education teachers.

using the quasi-experimental approach, an intentional sample of (16) male teachers was selected in Dakahliya governorate-Egypt, their ages ranged from (29-44) years, with an average of age (35.62) year and a standard deviation of (4.39) randomly assigned in two groups experimental and control, each group consisted of (8) teachers.

the research tools consisted of a demographic data form, the PF scale (by researcher), and counseling program based on the PERMA model (consisting of 19 sessions) (by researcher).

the results of the research revealed the effectiveness of the counseling program based on the PERMA model in enhancing PF and the survival of its impact among the special education teachers in the experimental group.

thus, the continuity of enhancement was achieved, and the impact of the counseling program based on PERMA model in enhancing the PF was achieved.

the researcher recommends that more research based on the PERMA model among special education teachers because of its positive impact on their PF.

future research proposals were also discussed.
