The aim of the research is to know the effectiveness of a program based on cognitive apprenticeship in teaching mathematics to develop deep understanding and self-efficacy among middle school students.

The research group consisted of (70) male and female students from the second year of middle school, Then, research materials and tools were prepared, represented in the program (the teacher's guide and students' worksheets), the deep understanding test, and the self-efficacy scale.

The research tools were applied before, then teaching to the experimental group using the program based on cognitive apprenticeship, and teaching to the control group in the usual way.

The research tools were applied remotely to the students of the two research groups, and appropriate statistical methods were used to calculate the differences in the mean scores for each of the experimental group and the control group.

The results of the research showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the scores of the control group students in the post application in the deep understanding test and the self-efficacy scale in favor of the experimental group.
