Abstract EN
This research aims to shed light on the beginning of the Turkish role in the decline of the Abbasid state, as many historians have been defining the era of Caliph Al-Mutawakkil as the beginning of the role of the Turkish element in the decay of the Abbasid state, which is the opposite of the truth.
The beginning of this role was during the era of Caliph Al-Mu'tasim, because they sought in that period to get rid of what remained of the Arab elite close to the Abbasid court, imposing their control over the joints of the state, starting from the Caliph to the smallest official.
The researcher has proven the means and factors that led the Turk to this position, with some evidence of that from the heritage.
He also explained the hidden role played by the Turkish leader Ashnas, whose star rose from a mere obscure boy to a person who controls and controls nearly half of the Abbasid state, and controls and directs the policy of the Caliphs according to his desire.
