Mauritania is an Arab-African country located in northwest Africa and on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.

It was not luckier than its African neighbors, as its share of colonialism was from France, as this emerging country suffers from deteriorating conditions on all levels.

In 1958, the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania was declared, and Mukhtar Ould Dada became prime minister, and despite that announcement, the country did not obtain actual independence until November 28, 1960 under the leadership of Mukhtar Ould Dada, and during the period in which the Mukhtar ruled, the country did not enjoy With political stability, as it witnessed deteriorating conditions accompanied by multiple coup attempts and military interference in politics, so the title of the research came as "The role of the military establishment in political life in Mauritania until 1990".
