English Abstract

Bees are considered social insects that live in organized groups, and given the importance of bees as a producer of honey and pollinator for crops, this study was conducted, and the main objective was to determine the role of beekeeping projects in enhancing rural food security in northern Jordan, especially in the governorates of northern Jordan: Jerash Irbid Ajloun and Mafraq.

In order to achieve the goal of the study and to answer its questions and verify its hypotheses, the researcher designed a research tool, a questionnaire, and 236 questionnaires were retrieved from beekeepers from the rural community in the governorates of northern Jordan.

The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and statistical analysis methods were applied.

The study reached conclusions and recommendations, the most important of which were the following: The beekeepers in the northern Jordan governorates targeted in the study have an effective and distinguished role in implementing their programs and activities in local development, and apply an effective accountability system at different administrative levels and provide the appropriate climate for that system, but they need to activate cooperation with the beneficiaries.

The governorates of northern Jordan take into account the compatibility between donor policies and the strategic goals of beekeepers, but they need to involve the categories of beneficiaries and stakeholders in making some decisions related to projects and local development activities.

And it seeks to make good use of it, but it needs more communication with the beneficiary groups to enhance feedback in the implementation of programs and activities.

The strategic vision is implemented at a high rate where appropriate strategic and operational plans are available, and a set of procedures and policies are also available that ensure the realization of the vision and mission of beekeepers.

The study recommends: Defining clear and specific priorities to work in accordance with the strategic vision of beekeepers to implement projects and provide services for beekeepers in accordance with the strategic plan set to achieve the message of workers in beekeeping.

Develop clear and general policies for dissemination and disclosure of information to the beneficiary groups.

Involve the relevant authorities in managing and evaluating beekeepers projects and programs Orientation towards income-generating projects to cover the minimum current expenses of beekeepers to ensure their continuity, to provide their services in accordance with its mission.

Consolidating the principles of justice with regard to employment, wages, expansion and facilitation of loans to finance development projects for beekeeping projects
