Abstract EN

Food security is the responsibility of the agricultural sector in Egypt.

However.

all performance indicators indicate that the agricultural sector is unable to meet the growing food needs of the population.

Consequently.

Egypt suffers from a widening food gap from year to another and the difficulty of achieving so-called food security.

which is extremely important for Egypt's national security.

Therefore.

the study used the simple regression and multiple regressions by using the Wise-Step method to explain the independent variables and to know the extent of their impact on the dependent variable and their compatibility with economic theory in order to help policy makers and decision makers in Egypt reduce the food gap and achieve food security.

The results showed that the impact of the factors related to the agriculture sector on the food gap has the largest impact.

According to the results obtained.

the most important recommendations came out is about the necessity of rationalizing the consumption of food and adjusting the prevailing consumption patterns within the Egyptian society while reducing the population growth rates and developing the existing high-yielding varieties.

as well as developing new ones through activating the role of research bodies and spreading modern mechanization tools in order to reduce the food gap and achieve the food security in Egypt
