Arabic Abstract

هدفت هذه الدراسة بشكل أساسي إلى مقارنة مستوى الأمن الغذائي لدى الأسر في محافظتي عجلون وجرش للوقوف على مدى تفاوت هذا المستوى بين المحافظتين ولمعرفة وتفسير أهم الأسباب وراء هذا التفاوت.

تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع الأسر الأردنية في محافظتي جرش وعجلون، أما حجم عينة الدراسة فقد بلغ (398) أسرة في المحافظتين، منها (171) في محافظة عجلون خضع للتحليل الإحصائي منها (166)، و(227) في محافظة جرش خصع للتحليل الإحصائي منها (223) بنسبة استرداد بلغت (98.2%) لكلا المحافظتين.

ولتحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة تم استخدام ثلاثة مؤشرات رئيسية شملت نسبة الإنفاق على الغذاء، علامة استهلاك الغذاء، مقياس انعدام الأمن الغذائي الفردي.

أشارت نتائج الدراسة بناء على قيم المؤشرات الثلاثة المستخدمة: نسبة الإنفاق طى الغذاء، وعلامة استهلاك الغذاء، ومقياس انعدام الأمن الغذائي الفردي يمكن إعتبار الأسر في المحافظتين أمنة غذائيا، وبمقارنة هذا المستوى في المحافظتين يمكن الاستتتاج أن مستوى الأمن الغذائي للأسر في محافظة عجلون أفضل نسبيا منه في محافظة جرش بسبب اريفاع دخل الأسر في عجلون وكذلك اريفاع مستواهم التعليمي.

أوصت الدراسة بضرورة العمل على تصين دخول الأسر من خلال التشجيع على تأسيس المشاريع المدرة للدخل، وتسهيل ذلك من خلال تمويلها في كل من محافظتي جرش وعجلون، والعمل على الحد من البطالة لدى فئة الشباب للعاطلين عن العمل، وتفعيل مشاركة وسائل الإعلام لحث المواطنين طى نهج السلوك الرشيد استهلاك الغذاء وتقليل الفاقد منه، وتضمين البرامج المتعلقة بتحسين الأمن الغذائي للأخراد ضمن السياسات والإستراتيجيات الوطنية ذات الأولوية.

English Abstract

The main objective of this study was to compare the level of households’ food security in Ajloun and Jerash governorates in order to determine the extent of discrepancy between the two governorates in this manner, and to know and explain the most important reasons behind this discrepancy.

The study population consisted of all Jordanian houdeholds in Jerash and Ajloun governorates.

The study sample size was 398 houdeholds, of which (171) in Ajloun governorate and (166) of them underwent statistical analysis, and (227) in Jerash governorate of which (223) underwent statistical analysis, with a recovery rate of (98.2%) for both governorates.

To achieve the objectives of this study, three main indicators were used, including the percentage of spending on food, the food consumption score, and the individual food insecurity scale.

The results of the study showed that households in the two governorates are food secure, and by comparing the food security level in the two governorates, it can be concluded that the level of household’s food security in Ajloun governorate is relatively better than that in Jerash governorate.

The study recommended that there is a need to work on improving households’ incomes by encouraging the establishment of income-generating projects, and facilitating this by financing them, working to reduce unemployment among the youth, and activating the participation of the media to urge citizens to adopt a rational food consumption behavior to reduce food waste, Also, the study recommended that it is necessary to include programs related to improving food security for individuals within priority national policies and strategies.
