The reader notes the presence of poetry in the books of interpretation remarkably, as there is hardly an interpretation without citing it, and it is a presence that reflects the position of poetry in the souls of the people, because of what it represents from an inferential, argumentative and persuasive dimension.

The presence of poetry in exegesis is not a new thing, rather it arose with the origin of the science of tafsir, and it suffices to note that the oldest existing exegesis include it in a remarkable abundance.

How did the culture of citing poetry instilled among the commentators? What are its roots and origins ? What are the reasons for it ? What is the status of Nafi’ ibn al-Azraq’s issues in these martyrdom cases ? This article attempts to monitor some aspects that illuminate one of these questions.
