Praise be to Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon the final prophet.

Zakah is an Islamic obligation on each and every Muslim who owns a “nisab” i.e.

a minimum amount of money upon certain conditions.

Undoubtedly, Muslims base their sayings and actions on sincerity to Allah Almighty to gain His satisfaction and bountiful rewards.

Therefore, all actions are based on intention; a man can attain with his intention what he could not with his real action.

Here comes the title of this paper: “Having Intention in giving zakah: A Fiqhi study”.

The most important sections include: (1) Intention as a prerequisite for payment of zakah (2) Description and time of intention (3) Contradiction of the Zakah-giver with his intention (4) Making an intention of payment that was spent free of intention.

(5) Hesitant intention of the Zakah-giver (6) Giving Zakah with a decisive intention for money that does not exist (7) Precepts of intention in Zakah giving if taken by the ruler.
