As one of the natural laws that God laid to His bondmen is that the older one gets, the more susceptible to diseases which could be mostly related to human senses used for fulfilling the acts of worship.

Of the aging diseases is Parkinson’s that affects one’s movement and temperament.

These factors affect the nature of the Muslim’s acts of worship as well.

Therefore, exploring the related precepts may serve the needs of the community.

The definition and symptoms of the disease are outlined in the introduction and the main topic is discussed in two sections: Ritual purification and Prayers.

Findings include the following: 1- Parkinson's disease affects the nervous system and affects the physical and mental abilities of the patient.

2- Ablution is mandatory on any one with continuous ritual impurity.

3- Ablution is mandatory on patients of Parkinson’s disease to perform prayers; they do not have to repeat their ablution if they let out urine (unwillingly).

4- It is forbidden to wash the body parts for ablution more than three times.

5- Congregational prayers are mandatory on patients of Parkinson’s disease in the early stage of the disease.

It is also mandatory in the late stage if they could be escorted to the mosque safely and easily.

6- Congregational is not mandatory on Parkinson’s disease patients if they are unable to go to the mosque, for the late stage of the disease, for safety, or for having no one escorting them to the mosque.

7- It is permissible to combine two prayers together for patients of Parkinson’s disease if need be.
