Heritage is an essential part of national identity; It is a material and moral embodiment of it, as it includes all of the places, buildings and major monuments, and the associated ways of displaying their holdings.

Heritage has a key role in understanding the history of any nation in terms of its historical record, identity, and people.

The cultural heritage in Lebanon today faces a number of risks and challenges instigated by wars and conflicts, many of which require a direct involvement in the protection of this heritage using all means to ensure its preservation because of its necessity and importance of the Lebanese society.

The ence of societal awareness and ignorance of the importance of cultural heritage and archaeological sites; with the consequence of not realizing the necessity to preserve these sites as a heritage representing the identity of a society or a country, as many archaeological cities are exposed to the construction of road networks or even to the encroachment of farmers, through the exploitation of some areas for agriculture in archaeological areas and the construction of modern buildings.

This paper will address some of the heritage and archaeological sites that were subject to these violations and the mean to protect them.
