The onion crop has economic and strategic importance in Egypt, in addition to its export importance and its role in providing foreign exchange, as production in 2020 was about 2.7 million tons, and its exports were about 369,000 tons, with an estimated value of about 175 million dollars.

the importance of climatic studies in agricultural production reveals the extent of compatibility between climate elements and the climatic requirements of plants.

the results of the estimated model for the impact of the climatic changes on productivity of the onion crop revealed that there is a direct relationship between the productivity of the onion crop in Egypt and the average minimum temperatures during the study period (1995-2020) .

there was a positive relationship between the productivity of the onion crop and the average rainfall, and the statistical significance of that was not proven.

it also appeared that there is an inverse relationship between the productivity of the onion crop in Egypt and the average wind speed, as it was found that when the average wind speed increases by 1%, the productivity decreases by about 2.4%, and the statistical significance of this decrease has been proven.
