Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify the Turkish Regional Role in Arab Region: between perfectionism and new Ottoman.

The main hypothesis of this research paper based on that the legacy of Ottoman Turkey and its geostrategic location that qualify it for interesting in regional developments and away from it any form of security threat to its lands on the one hand and it brings with it many economic benefits both in the framework of its commercial relations or by crossing energy resources through its territory on the other hand, and its location gives it a wider field of movement and the search for regional and international influence on the third hand.

Within this framework, it is considered broad trends in some Turkish literature that the Arab Spring revolutions and the consequence events contributes to the strengthening of Turkey's ability to put into practice the “New Ottoman” strategy, to expand towards the Arab region, So that Turkey integrates more and more deeply with the Arab countries that were under the control and influence of the Ottoman Empire.

According to this scenario for the Turkey‟s role in the region, the Turkish leadership focuses in its foreign policy on strengthening its soft power by maximizing its political, economic, diplomatic and cultural influence especially in areas that were historically dependent on the Ottoman Empire, based on the believe that Turkey represents a major regional power, with the attempt to inaugurate a new Ottoman empire in these areas, with the aim of establishing an Islamic legal system in modern Turkey.
