Abstract EN

This research paper studies the presence of the author’s self in its discourse, tracing the self in the book “Raj’ al-Sada” by the Tunisian writer Mohamed al-Aroussi al-Matwi, while focusing on two prominent aspects of the ego: a face recovered from the past whose features are woven by memory, and a face created by imagination from the vast possibilities of life.

Therefore, the research traces two basic actions that weave the self-image in this book; which are “remembrance” and “imagination”; within the framework of a conception that tightens the links between writing and existence and monitors the manifestations of the self in the text as well as the faces of its presence in it.

It also draws the features of the self with words projecting its own shadows.
