Abstract EN

Communication was celebrated in the Arab civilization especially between the second sixth centuries of “alhijra”.

As a result, there was a great variety in writings and grammatical, literary and rhetorical studies that regulated a range of rules guiding the principle of understanding which in turn adhered to the concept of coherence and cohesion with the language in use.

This was meant to make discourse meaningful as the end was to achieve understandability.

In this light, the grammatical system and theory were devised- at several levels: (phonetics, conjugation, lexic, syntax and semantics.

.) to unveil the meanings.

Here emerges parsing as at the heart of the aforementioned theory, “It has been known that meanings remain detained in their terms until parsing comes in to decipher them and that intentions are latent within until it elicits them”, as “ABDALKAHER ALJORJANI” puts it.

This paper is intended to highlight the importance of parsing in the distinction between meanings.
