Abstract EN

The current study aims to examine pillars of a balanced interaction with social media platforms for university female students in Kuwaiti society.

The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach in order to develop original and practical proposals that define the pillars of balanced interaction with social networks.

The sample of the study consists of (968) female students from the college of Education at Kuwait University and the College of Basic Education.

The study tools include a questionnaire that consists in its initial form of (40) phrases.

Among the results of the study, nearly half of the study sample used social networks every day for six hours or more.

Nearly (90%) of the respondents affirm - whether always, often or occasionally - the increased presence of the phenomenon of blind imitation of celebrities through cyber communication channels.

More than sixty percent of the study sample confirmed that university girls are subjected to "harassment and abuse in social networks." Among the female students’ proposals to establish balanced foundations in the use of communication channels: educating students about the advantages and disadvantages of using social networks; and taking into account the use of social networks in accordance with religious and family teachings.
