Abstract EN

This study, titled "The Figurative Questions in the Sudanese Poet Al-Hadi Adam's collection of poems [Diwan] (Koukh Al-Ashwaq)", aims at revealing the poet's ability to use the questions method to achieve his poetic purpose, highlighting the Sudanese poetry and attracting literary scholars to study and investigate his aesthetics.

This study included introduction, preface and two chapters: The introduction discussed the importance of the study, and significance and purpose of the subject.

As for the preface, it was about the life of the poet and the general features of his poetic experience.

It also dealt with the scholars' general concept regarding the questions, especially the Figurative Question.

As for the first chapter, the study discussed letters of questions according to the different patterns presented in the Diwan, analyzing them and then identifying the metaphorical meanings learned.

The second chapter studied the types of the questions included in the Diwan, divided into different patterns to reveal their connotations.

This study used the descriptive approach, along with the analytical methodology.

This study concluded the following results: - Political poetry has the largest number of question types.

- In the Diwan, the Hamza is the most used tool in questions, where it came in fifty verses.

- The Literal Question occurred only once In the Diwan.

- The poet was capable of utilizing the figurative question as required by context and occasion.
