Abstract EN
ABSTRACT - The use of renewable energy sources is becoming increasingly necessary if we are to achieve the changes required to address the impacts of global warming.
Biomass is the most common form of renewable energy, widely used in the third world but until recently, less in the Western world.
Latterly much attention has been focused on identifying suitable biomass species, which can provide high-energy outputs, to replace conventional fossil fuel energy sources.
An experimental study concerning the biomethane production from organic waste available in the Albayda region was carried out with a pilot installation consisting of a digester and a biogas storage tank.
The aim of the work has to measure the daily values of the medium temperature and the produced biogas volume.
The present work had been experimentally carried out by studying the methanation of organic waste, such as household wastes, cow dung and, sheep manure.
Two different periods of the anaerobic digestion process have been identified.
The mean temperature is about 35 °C, 40°C and, the residence time was about 10 days.
The results show that food waste (FW) achieved the highest biogas yield accumulating 1715mL and the value of PH was about 6.3 at the end of the 10-day mesophilic digestion period.
Also, the temperature and pH effect on biogas production ultimately.
