Abstract EN

The study dealt with the concept of artificial intelligence, its characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages in light of the technical revolution that the contemporary world is witnessing today.

especially with the proliferation of digital platforms and cloud computing systems, as well as the possibility of using them in the investigation and inference of crimes, especially with the spread of crimes committed by artificial intelligence entities and their advanced systems.

moreover, the study examined the shortcomings of the provisions of the Jordanian code of criminal procedure (CCP) in terms of not providing the use of artificial intelligence systems or not providing the artificial intelligence itself to investigate and infer in crimes that require that.

the study also differentiated between use in investigation and inference and the entity itself investigating and inferring.

finally, the study concluded with a set of findings and recommendations, the most prominent of which is the need to amend the code of criminal procedure ; by adding a text that includes a reference to the use of artificial intelligence systems in the process of investigation and inference, and adding another legal text that allows “artificial intelligence to investigate and infer crimes that require it according to a set of controls”.
