Death penalty is considered as a controversial nature, as some problems arise around its application at international and national levels.

in light of the global trend in the field of human rights towards the abolition of death penalty, which was embodied in an additional optional protocol attached to the international covenant on civil and political rights.

many countries have responded to this, but there are those who still adhere to this penalty.

however, each trend has its own justifications.

in countries that still apply the death penalty, such as jordan - although the execution of the penalty is often suspended - the method of execution reflects cruelty and brutality not less than the penalty itself, where methods are followed that are inconsistent with human rights, dignity, or fair trail guarantees, such as suffocation.

therefore, this research is based on the idea that until the stage of the final abolition of the death penalty in jordan is reached, its application must be sufficient for all standards necessary for the respect of human rights and dignity.
