The present paper aimed to highlight the immediate challenges facing Arab higher education, to uncover the reasons for the lack of alignment between higher education outputs and the requirements of the labor market, and to identify what soft skills needed for university education graduates and their relationship to achieving compatibility with the requirements of the labor market.

The pioneer of developed countries that was able to achieve harmonization between higher education outcomes and labor market requirements.

By upgrading its soft skills as one of the mechanisms for bridging the gap between higher education outcomes and the changing labor market needs.

The researcher used the descriptive analytical method.

Among the most prominent results are that one of the strongest reasons for the poor alignment of higher education outputs with the requirements of the labor market is the nature of the labor market, which is directly affected by technological and productive developments, and therefore it develops more quickly than the development in educational systems.

As well as globalization that has changed the requirements of the labor market, so there is a difference between levels of education and training and the requirements of the labor market.

Also, today the student needs a set of skills, which guarantee him ample chances to get a job and achieve a successful career.

These skills extend beyond academic training and specialization to broader areas, they are called soft skills, and they have been imposed by the needs of the renewed labor market.

Including (communication - organization and planning - working within a team - flexibility - critical thinking - crisis management - professionalism - negotiation).

Among the recommendations of the researcher: The need for educational policies in Arab countries to adopt new forms of higher education that are more related to the requirements and needs of the labor market, such as (partnership universities - Entrepreneurship University - transnational higher education - e-learning - and distance education).

As well as expanding technical and vocational higher education, to prepare specialized and qualified frameworks that respond to the requirements of the knowledge society armed with soft skills that are compatible with the needs of the labor market.

And the necessity for universities to review the majors, programs and educational curricula they provide periodically in light of a future vision of development needs and the demands of the labor market.
