Abstract EN

In light of students increasing use of social networks, this research aimed to identify the perceptions of high school female students towards the educational use of "Edmodo", a social learning network, based on variables of the school year and the rate of use.

The research used the descriptive method, while the research sample consisted of (355) high school female students in Rass city in Saudi Arabia.

For the purpose of finding out students' perceptions, the researcher developed a questionnaire on the Five – Point Likert Scale, consisting of (30) items distributed on two axes respectively; The pros and cons of the educational use of the social learning network (Edmodo).

The results concluded that the perceptions of high school female students towards the educational use of (Edmodo) network were positive in general, whereas the students agreed on one negative, which is poor internet connection.

The results also showed that there is no difference between students' perceptions of the educational use of Edmodo network due to the variable of the school year.

Whereas, there were differences with respect to the rate of use, as the perceptions of students who rarely use the network were less positive regarding the advantages of the educational use of the social learning network (Edmodo).

The research recommended increasing interest in integrating and using Edmodo and other social networks in public education.
