Abstract EN

This paper aims to explain the Gnostic thought and its first contact with Muslims, highlighting Sufi Gnosticism standpoint of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and its interpretations of the texts of the Noble Revelation.

The study comprises an introduction, two sections and a conclusion.

The introduction defines the study terms.

The first section offers an account of early Gnostic contact with Muslims, and the impact of Gnostic thought on Muslim Sufism.

The second section discusses Gnostic standpoint of Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah.

The study revealed that Gnostic thought is a fake falsified doctrine which mixes human knowledge with secrecy-based rituals away from the Divine revelations to all messengers.

It was concluded that early Muslim and Sufi Gnostic contact with Christianity took place in the Levant , and with Pagan Magianism In Iraq and Iran and through translation movement.

It was also revealed that Gnostic Sufi interpretation was a sort of some hidden interpretation of the Qur’an and the Sunnah in such a way that creates implicit layers of implications and diverts the texts from their explicit meanings.
