Abstract EN

This study investigates the breastfeeding of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in Bani Saad, highlighting the concept of breastfeeding in definition both lexically and contextually, its place in Islam and its regulations.

Furthermore, the study elaborates on the reasons behind entrusting Quraish children breastfeeding to Bani Saad at the environmental, health, linguistic and physical levels, with special reference to the time period of breastfeeding of Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him.

The study revealed that the Prophet's first wet nurse, Thuwaiba al-Salamiyya, was a free Arab woman and was not enslaved by Abu Lahab, , but rather her loyalty, as evidenced, was of alliance and good neighborhood.

It was also concluded that the Prophet's kinship in Bani Saad, including his sister Shaima, whom many scholars assumed was breastfed with the Prophet directly from Halima was on the contrary based on the fact that Al-Shaima was much older than the Prophet and she just shared him drinking milk from the sheep at the time of grazing.
