Abstract EN

This research aims at finding out the most correct meanings of tas ℏif and ta ℏrif(distortion and slip of pen or misspelling) among the modern scholars, and the study of the terms comparatively between al-Hafiz Ibn Uday and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar.

it consists of an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion.

the first section defines the terms tas ℏif and ta ℏrif , and the second section discusses the term cited by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar.

one of the most prominent findings to emerge from this research is that the term tas ℏif according to Ibn Uday is more comprehensive than that cited by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, and that many scholars of Hadith sciences explained that the modernists such as Ibn al-Salah and others did not differentiate between the terms tas ℏif and ta ℏrif ; instead, it appears that there is a great relationship between them, as they are used to mean “modification”.

it became clear that the term cited by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar is his own term, and not a general term among the modernists..
