Abstract EN

The functional approach is regarded as one of the most important modern approaches for language teaching.

it deals with language as a tool of communication and social interaction, this approach is meant to enhance the learners’ linguistic skills and make them easy to use and apply in different daily life communicative situations.

this research paper aims at shedding light on the importance of this approach in improving skills in Arabic language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in the first stages of learning.

we will attempt to answer the following question : how can primary education teachers use this approach as a helpful tool in teaching Arabic and developing the learners’ skills in this language ?.
