The aim of this research paper is to explore the effect of code switching in cartoons' dubbing on children's language.

it sheds light on the role of environment in the mechanism of language acquisition in children.

in addition, important issues of cartoons' dubbing-as the most followed type of children literature-mainly the conflict between domestication and foreignization are discussed.

to uncover the limits of this phenomenon, a structured questionnaire was administered to 40 children aged between 4 and 9 years old after watching an episode of apple & onion.

results revealed that code switching, used especially within titles and names of characters, is a double edged sword which can influence children either positively helping them to acquire English if they are well-guided, or negatively making the understanding process difficult if children are left alone under the control of the screen.
