Abstract EN

This paper is a highlight of one of scientific theft in the ottoman era, and it is related to a letter in solving a puzzle in Fiqh mentioned in one of the hanafi books, and two sheiks was claimed to have authored this letter, and two sheiks lived in the same era.

the first is sheik Hassan ben Ibrahim al-Jabarti, father of the historian Abdul-Rahman al-Jabarti, and the second is sheik Ali ben Mohammed al-Jaza’ri, known as ibn al-Turjuman, and the two letters reached in limit of complete congruence in meaning and writing, and that there was no difference except in the two introductions, which represent a preamble for each author.

therefore, the study of these two letters represents a study of a complete process of scientific theft, where the thief didn’t make any effort to change the phrases while preserving the meaning, but on the contrary, he robbed the letter, and replaced only a small thing in the introduction.
