Abstract EN

This paper deals with an aspect of urban transformation in the countryside of Tlemcen, which comes through the development of housing as a human facility, and a renewable urban unit.

at the same time, it expresses the extent of socioeconomic and cultural transformations that population groups are undergoing in general, in their transition from the simple to the complex level.

the study chose "Zalboun Village" as a research field, because of the transformations it has witnessed in recent years in its spatial and residential aspects.

the study described the general urban and social field of the area, and touched on the stages of its development, highlighting the residential models in the village.

she also referred to the manifestations of transformation at the level of spatial dispersal, the morphology of the house and its internal preparation, an attempt to identify the most important social and cultural factors that contributed to the transition of society from the rural character that distinguished it, to a society that can be said as having an urban character similar to civil life, especially in what on the urban side.

the study concluded that the spatial and urban transformation in the region did not have prior planning, as it was characterized by randomness, and did not take into account the ecological specificity of the region.
