The aim of this paper is to reveal the contribution of the school in citizenship education through the literature.

the developments in the world politically, economically and security have made citizenship education a priority among the concerns of the actors in the field of education.

the school is one of the institutions that play the role of transferring the values of citizenship to the young people as : love of the homeland, the spirit of tolerance, renunciation of violence, as well as urging them to practice it into their daily behavior.
