The launch of the new cities program in 2004 by the Department of Housing and Town Planning is part of the new vision of territorial development that Morocco has been developing in recent years, based on urban projects with strong economic and social impact.
for these new cities, new ways of doing things are supposed to be implemented through the creation of institutions with a specific vocation dedicated to ensuring their portage and their management.
ensure ad hoc arrangements to give these institutions the capacity to conduct this program efficiently.
explore new forms of urban management and maintain relationships through partnerships.
ambitious objectives announced by the speeches, in particular with regard to demographic, town planning and environmental aspects.
in this article, we have studied, in the first time, the ambiguity of the concept of new towns.
in a second time, we were interested in the characteristics and specifics of today's new towns.
are they successful or not achieving their goals ?

Le lancement du programme villes nouvelles en 2004 par le département de l’Habitat et de l’Urbanisme fait partie de la nouvelle vision du développement territorial que le Maroc développe ces dernières années, fondée sur les projets urbains à fort impact économique et social.
pour ces villes nouvelles, de nouveaux modes de faire sont censés être mis en place à travers la création d’institutions à vocation spécifique dédiées à assurer leur portage et leur conduite.
assurer des dispositifs ad hoc pour conférer à ces institutions la capacité de mener ce programme de façon efficiente.
des objectifs ambitieux annoncés par les discours, notamment en ce qui concerne les aspects démographiques, urbanistiques et environnementaux.
dans le présent article, nous avons traité, en premier lieu, l’ambiguïté du concept des villes nouvelles.
dans un second temps, nous nous sommes intéressés aux caractéristique et aux spécifiques des villes nouvelles d'aujourd'hui.
est-ce qu’elles parviennent ou pas à atteindre leurs objectifs ?
