His study dealt with the phenomenon of regional economic blocs and their role in promoting intra-regional trade by presenting the experience of the free trade area of the association of Southeast Asian nations for the period 2011-2020.

as a successful model that was able to withstand global economic crises based on the analysis and comparison of statistical data for intra-regional exports and imports of goods and services with the values of factors supporting regional economic integration.

the study concluded that macroeconomic indicators, the difference in the economic structure, the availability of natural resources, infrastructure development; labor efficiency, and the size of the consumption market, are all factors that enhance the gains of brown trade; reducing the tariff rate is the most influential factor; the volume of exchanges between the founding and organizing countries varies after 1992.
