The tourism industry is one of the most important strategic sectors in achieving sustainable economic growth and development for contemporary societies regarding its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP).

the strategic orientation of countries like Saudi Arabia towards diversifying their sources of income and avoiding a reliance upon a single resource such as oil.

this article aims to measure the impact of tourism on the Saudi economy using Johansson's co-integration test and the granger causality test.
