The article discusses some of the social aspects of the city of Tlemcen in the ottoman era, related to celebrations and religious practices.

it emphasizes some social celebrations such as the celebrations of religious holidays like Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr and the prophets birthdays.

likewise, it studies popular celebrations related to marriage, the new born celebration and the new year.

it highlights the ways people celebrated and practiced their rituals such as commemoration of the righteous saints "al Awliya a-Salihin" and visiting shrines.

it also aims at demonstrating the extent to which the incoming communities such as Turks and Moriscos contributed to the development of the local culture of the Tlemcen community.

for this, it depicts and investigates local and foreign sources, especially the travel books, which had an important contribution, to writing the history of the Tlemcen community.

the latter is considered a principal city of the Algerian west province and a destination for many social groups for cultural, economic or political purposes.
