Abstract EN

The Algerian economy is a rentier economy, essentially dependent on revenues from the hydrocarbons sector.

this study aims to find out to what extent fluctuations in oil prices on the international market affect the evolution of economic indicators (trade balance, gross domestic product, general budget) for the period 2000 to 2019.

due to the fall in oil prices, to which many factors contributed, the fragility of the Algerian economy was exposed, as the aforementioned economic indicators were negatively affected.

and in order to avoid disastrous consequences, it must therefore be dealt with as soon as possible, by diversifying the Algerian economy on the basis of alternative strategies, among which we can cite the development of the agricultural sector, and the role it would play.
