يتداخل تخصص علم المكتبات والمعلومات مع عدة تخصصات أخرى، كما أشار إلى ذلك المتخصص والباحث باكلاند (Backland) في تعريفه لعلم لمعلومات: بأنه حقلا يهتم بالحوسبة، الجبر وتقنيات المعلومات، فزياء المعلومات والمعلومات المسجلة في وثائق.
نفهم من هذا التعريف أن تخصص علم المكتبات والمعلومات هو حقل بيني له علاقة مع عدة تخصصات.
مثل : الاقتصاد والإدارة، الإحصاء والهندسة والتاريخ وعلم الأخلاق وغيرها.
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تبيان علاقة التخصص بعلوم الهندسة المعمارية وخلصت إلى وجود تداخل وترابط كبير بين التخصصين، يتجلى في استضافة علم المكتبات والمعلومات لعديد المفاهيم الهندسية في برامجه أكاديمية في اطار تحقيق مباني تفاعلية وذات فعالية.
Abstract EN
The specialty of library and information science overlaps with several disciplines, as emphasized by researcher Buckland in his definition of information science: it is a field concerned with computing, algebra and information technologies, information physics and information recorded in documents.
in the sense that the specialty of library and information science is an interdisciplinary field that has a relationship with several specialties.
this study aimed to show the relationship of specialization with architectural engineering sciences and concluded that there is a great overlap and interdependence between the two disciplines, which is reflected in the library and information science hosting of many engineering concepts.
