Abstract EN

This study presents the most prominent topics addressed by the French writings before the French occupation of Algeria, whether those written by the consuls or a group of historians, and even the reports of European spies who were sent to Algeria, which became the subject of their concerns, especially after the emergence of weakness and deterioration in the political and social life of the Regency of Algeria in the first and the second decades of the 19th century, and the decline of Algeria's land and sea power military as well as the growing of French ambitions in occupying Algeria by drawing up plans and projects of invasion and incitement to occupation.
