Listing of companies on the stock exchange : a case study on Algiers stock exchange

Abstract EN

The Stock Exchange plays a vital role in mobilizing financial resources and savings and preparing them for investment, as well as stimulating various sectors of the economy and moving continuously the wheel of economic growth, and also contributes to attracting foreign and national immigrant investments.

The economic reform program depends on the existence of an active financial market that works on developing and expanding the scope of dealing in securities in an organized market.

This study aims to know the role of the stock exchange in financing companies as an alternative to financing through banks, via the so-called listing that allows these companies to price their securities on the stock exchange in accordance with supply and demand orders that approve the performance of companies.

The study concluded that despite the advantages offered by listing in the stock exchange for companies, the efficiency of the latter limits this importance and this is evident through our study of listing in Algiers stock exchange.
