Intertextuality is a critical movement that has attracted the interest of critics as it concerns itself with authors' and poets' artistic creativity and the richness of their cultural and intellectual background.

The Arpatrimony of poetry pioneered the use of intertextuality, in the modern meaning of the term, through different terminologies such as: embodiment, plagiarism, quotation, imitation, etc.

The article traces intertextuality in the poetry of an ancient Moroccan poet, Abu Al-Abbas Al-Jarawi, highlighting, first, the aesthetic and semantic dimensions in his poetry and referring, second, to the influence of his predecessors, in the East or in the Maghreb, and of the Holy Quran on his poetry.
