Abstract EN

Objectives : this study drives at exploring the relationship between self-efficacy and achievement motivation among secondary school students ; exposing as well, the differences in self-efficacy and achievement motivation between male and female secondary school students.

sample : the study sample consists of 300 male / female secondary school students in the (first, second, and third) grades, divided into 150 males and 150 females, their age stages range between (15-18) years old, in private and government schools.

within the secondary schools in Cairo governorate.

instruments : social and educational level form for parents (by Fayza Youssef Abdel Megeed), scale of self-efficacy (designed by the researcher).

scale of achievement motivation (designed by the researcher).

results : there is a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and achievement motivation in a sample of secondary stage students ; so, the hypothesis is accepted and validate, there are statistically significant differences between average scores of the study sample (males / females) regarding their self-efficacy on the behavioral and emotional side in favor of males ; while there are no differences between their mean scores on the social and cognitive side ; hence, the second hypothesis is accepted and partially verified, there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the study sample (males and females) regarding their socially and academically motivation to achievement ; while there are no differences between males and females on the behavioral and emotional components ; so, the hypothesis is accepted and partially validated.
