The study aims to research its concept of societal security from the fact that it does not have a specific definition, as it represents one of the areas or dimensions of complex security, in addition to the presence of disagreement about it among academics in international relations and international organizations, which gave it widely varying definitions, and that the product of developments at the theoretical level as well as the international reality, and this research paper deals with the most important theories that try to explain this phenomenon represented in the Copenhagen school and the approach to human security, and to show the different points of view of the two approaches on this concept based on its premises, principles, and reasons that it believes may lead to societal security threat.
